LEGAL INFORMATION

Cookies and external videos

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a service may store on your device and read later. Other technologies, such as browser local storage, may also retain information about preferences, sessions or interactions.

2. What hardMent uses when you open the website

This website’s code does not set first-party cookies, store preferences in local or session storage, or include analytics, pixels or first-party advertising. Images, thumbnails and fonts are served from our site. The menu and carousel work without storing identifiers on your device.

For that reason, we do not show a general cookie acceptance notice when you arrive. We ask for a choice only if you want to enable the optional YouTube service. The hosting server may process connection data, such as your IP address, to deliver and protect the website; this is different from setting cookies. See our privacy policy.

3. YouTube: only with your authorisation

When you select “Play here”, you will see information about the service and two options: “Accept and load video” or “Continue without YouTube”. Until you accept, no player is created and no connection to YouTube is made. Declining or closing the notice lets you continue browsing.

The provider is YouTube, a Google service; for users in the European Economic Area, Google Ireland Limited. When enabled, Google receives connection and usage data, such as your IP address, browser and playback activity. It may use cookies and similar technologies to provide and protect the service, store preferences, measure usage and show ads. We use enhanced privacy mode: according to YouTube, ads shown in that player will not be personalized. This mode does not mean that playback is free of third-party technologies.

Google’s information about cookies describes, among others, YSC (security, session), PREF (preferences, 8 months), __Secure-YNID (operation and measurement, 6 months) and __Secure-YENID (operation, security and measurement, 13 months). These are examples documented by the provider, not a claim that all are set during every playback. Actual use depends on the player, your browser and Google’s settings.

See the provider’s privacy policy for purposes, retention and controls. Google may process data outside the European Economic Area under the transfer mechanisms it publishes.

4. Changing your mind and deleting data

Authorisation applies only to the video you selected. We do not save it for future visits. You can withdraw it using “Disable YouTube” beside the carousel: playback stops and the player is removed. The player is also unloaded when you switch masterclasses, reload or leave the page. Authorisation will be requested again before another video loads.

Disabling the player prevents further connections from it, but does not erase data Google has already received or third-party cookies that may have been stored. You can delete or block them in your browser’s privacy settings and use the controls described in Google’s policy. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it was withdrawn.

5. Links and future changes

“Watch on YouTube” opens that provider’s website, where its own privacy options apply. The same applies to LinkedIn and other linked sites. If we add tools that require consent, we will update this information and provide a control before enabling them.
